Privacy policy

What we collect

• Account: your name and email address from Sign in with Apple or Google (Apple may give us a private relay address), and the username you choose. We never receive or store a password.
• Profile: your date of birth, gender, chosen avatar, preferred sports and level, language and time zone.
• Location: your device's location while you use the app, only if you allow it, to show games near you and centre the map. We don't store your live location. We do store places you choose: where a game you create takes place, and the area you pick for new-game alerts.
• Activity: games and team matches you create or join, your teams, chat messages in games and teams, attendance, votes (such as MVP and fair play), feedback, and reports you send or receive.
• Training goals: the workouts, water and fasting goals you set and log.
• Support: the messages you send us and our replies.
• Device: a push notification token for each device you use, your device type, operating system, app version and language.

We don't access your contacts, camera, microphone or health data. You only grant access to your photo library if you choose a picture.

How we use it

• To run the app: your account, finding and joining games nearby, teams, chats and notifications.
• To keep games fair and safe: attendance, reputation and level ratings, and reviewing reports.
• To answer you when you contact support.
• To protect the service: preventing abuse, fraud and misuse, and keeping it secure.
• To understand problems and improve the app.

We don't sell your personal data and we don't show third-party advertising. If you live in a region with data-protection laws such as the GDPR, we rely on our contract with you to provide the app, our legitimate interest in keeping it safe and working, and your consent for location and notifications, which you can withdraw at any time in your device settings.

What other players see

Other players see your display name, avatar, sports and level, reputation, the games and teams you take part in, and the messages you post in game and team chats. Your email address, date of birth and gender stay private.

When you share a game or team, anyone with the link can see its sport, time, place and number of players.

Reports you file are only seen by our moderation team.

Who else is involved

We use a small number of service providers, only for what each one does:

• Apple and Google, to sign you in.
• Expo, with Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging, to deliver notifications.
• Mapbox, to show maps in the app. Mapbox receives the map areas you view.
• DigitalOcean, which hosts our servers and database.

We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our players.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your profile and personal details. Games that other players took part in are kept for their history, without your name. We keep moderation and security records only as long as needed to protect players, and data in backups is removed as the backups are replaced. Old notifications are deleted automatically.

Your choices and rights

• Edit your profile at any time in the app.
• Turn location and notifications on or off in your device settings, or choose which notifications you get in the app.
• Delete your account in the app: Profile, Settings, Delete Account.
• Ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it by writing to hhs.softwaredev@gmail.com.

We answer requests within 30 days.

Children

Géo Crew is for people aged 13 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13; if you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

Your data travels over encrypted connections. Access to it is limited to the people who need it to run the service, by role, and every action in our staff tools is logged. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Where your data is processed

Our providers may process your data outside your country. We only use providers that protect it to the standard this policy describes.

Changes to this policy

We will update the date at the top of this page when the policy changes, and let you know in the app about important changes.
